Ebony Pearl Aquarium Fish Handplane
This double concave, glossy, fish-shaped handplane handplane was a special commission and is a stunning, performance bodysurfer. The lighter wood comes from Alaskan Cedar benches used by thousands of visitors at the world renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium. The black wood is ebony from the head of a Santa Cruz Guitar Company guitar, inclusive of the gorgeous mother of pearl inlay.
This handplane uses Entropy Super Sap Epoxy bio-resin which is made using mostly tree sap. The hand strap is nylon and adjustable. It is covered with offcuts from O'Neill Wetsuit product development, and the wood is shaped with our unique, ergonomic hand fit. The hardware is solid brass. As with all Ventana handplanes, this one floats so you can easily pass it between friends in the waves.
This handplane comes with a Ventana, double-thick, reclaimed towel bag with a Paracord drawstring from Khordz mugs. An eighth grade seamstress in Soquel, California creates these unique bags for us!
You only need a single handplane on your leading arm for a great ride every time! This is a terrific conversation piece in your home and will slice you across the face of any sized surf.
